Chilidog Tater Tot Casserole


Ingredients

1 package (8-10) hot dogs

2 cans (or 4 cups of homemade) chili, with or without beans

8-16 oz shredded cheddar cheese, divided in half

3 green onions (chives), sliced, then divided in half

~3 cups frozen Tater Tots


DIrections

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease a deep (3"+) 9"x13" casserole dish.

  2. Cut hot dogs into bite-sized pieces, and place in a single layer of the casserole dish.

  3. Top evenly with chili.

  4. Sprinkle half the cheese on top of the chili.

  5. Sprinkle half the chives on top of the cheese.

  6. Place the Tater Tots on top of the cheese & chives in an even layer.

  7. Cover with foil. Bake for 30 minutes, until Tater Tots are golden brown.

  8. Uncover and sprinkle the other half of the cheese and chives on top of the Tater Tots.

  9. Bake another 5-10 minutes until the cheese melts.

  10. Remove from oven and allow to sit for 5 mintues before serving.
