Makes three 9"x13" deep-dish disposable foil pans
Meat/sauce mixture:
1 large onion, diced & sauteed in olive oil
3 Tbsps. minced garlic
3-4 lbs. ground meat
chopped button mushrooms
1 supersized jar Prego
Cheese/pasta mixture:
2 lbs. (2 boxes) rigatoni or ziti
2 lbs. (32 oz) ricotta cheese
2 lbs. Mozzarella
1-2 cups grated Parmesan
Italian seasoning
Layers for each pan:
1/6 of Meat/sauce on bottom
1/3 of Cheese/pasta mixture
sprinkle 1/6 of mozzarella
1/6 of Meat/sauce
sprinkle 1/6 of mozzarella
sprinkle more Parmesan
Bake at 375 for 35-45 minutes until heated through and cheese is golden brown.
Can assemble and freeze; then bake after thawing overnight in refrigerator.
